Documenting in CMBHS
DESCRIPTION
There are a number of different ways to get information into the CMBHS application. The designers and builders of CMBHS have selected the methods that strike the best balance between what is easiest for the user, and the methods most likely to result in accurate data entry, given the limits of available technology
Before You Start
- Before you start documenting in CMBHS, always make sure that you are in the correct provider location (clinic/program/service) and that you are in the correct client’s health record. Both pieces of information are displayed at the top of every page.
- These are both important to ensure that you have the correct record for your client to ensure the provision of safe care and to prevent documentation errors and loss of data.
- Although there are ways to correct documentation errors after they occur, it is far safer for the client and much easier for the CMBHS user to avoid errors by cross checking identifiers before documenting.
- These are both important factors to ensure that you can access health records for the correct clients and to prevent documentation errors.
NOTE:
- If you do not document correctly in a field or perform a CMBHS function correctly, you will receive an error message.
